In love with Lisbon

We had a fantastic weekend in Lisbon – got back late last night. The weather was fantastic – slightly drizzly on Saturday (but with the most amazing skies), and then sunny and hot on Sunday and Monday. Of course, coming back to rainy London was a bit of a shock – as was the Tube strike last night. It took forever to get home from Heathrow!  But we made it, with a teensy bit of a tan to show for our efforts.

I forgot my camera at home today, so I’m going to be cheeky and use a few generic Lisbon pictures to give you a taste of what is to come.

But overall I have to say that we totally, completely, 1000% fell head-over-heels in love with Lisbon. The city has everything on our checklist:  hills, bridges, historic trams, subways, art, architecture, funiculars, good cuisine, an interesting history, great public squares, a castle (even if it is fake!), a cathedral, etc.  If we won the lottery, we would totally buy a little place in the sun in Lisbon.
