Way Back Machine: the Carlisle-Settle Line

Close your eyes and pretend we’re in a time-machine, going all the way back to 2011!  Yes, I know it was ages and ages ago, but I found this blog post that we never actually published.  It’s from our trip to Blackpool for Alex’s 31st birthday, and there are some lovely pictures from our trip on the scenic Carlisle-Settle line.  We’ve started talking about (maybe someday) buying a house, and the thought of a little cottage on the Yorkshire Dales really strikes my fancy.  I think after you see some of these pics, you might agree!  Some of the pics are a bit fuzzy, but I home you’ll excuse that as we were passing by via ferroequinology!

All of the stations on the historic Carlisle-Settle line have been restored to an historic appearance. The color scheme is charming, and the quality or workmanship is undeniable.
