Rose Street by any other name

Rose Street in Edinburgh is a really cute bar/shopping/pedestrian street in New Town in Edinburgh. It was once known as the “Amber Mile” because of all the pubs!  Apparently it used to be a service street for the big houses on Princes Street and George Street, but it has really developed an individual personality.

Unfortunately it was way too crowded to do much that pass through, but it definitely seems like Rose Street is the perfect place for a pub crawl. Apparently there is a drinking game popular amongst the college students, where you have to take a drink in every bar along Rose Street. It’s unclear how many people make it all the way!  This was our favourite pub on the street, Dirty Dicks!
