Busy as a Bee

Tonight we’re going to the prom!  Ha ha, not like high-school-dress-up-and-take-a-limo-prom, but the BBC 2010 Proms Classical Music Festival. It’s going to be great!  The concert is at 7:30 at Royal Albert Hall, and the programme includes Berlioz (Overture ‘Le corsaire’),  Chopin (Piano Concerto No.2 in F minor),  Roussel (Symphony No.3), and Ravel (Daphnis et Chloë – Suite No.2). I’m quite excited!

Then tomorrow we’re heading off quite early to take the train up to Edinburgh, via Birmingham. I know Birmingham isn’t really on the way to Scotland, but that’s how the cheap train tickets worked out. Then tomorrow night we’re going to see the famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo (no, not skin art — think marching band in kilts).  On Saturday we’re seeing Edinburgh Castle before heading back to Birmingham, which we’ll explore on Sunday before coming home.

It’s a bit of scattered weekend, but that’s okay. I’m excited! If only I had some clean clothes to wear — we haven’t even had time to do any laundry. Oh well, that’s an excuse to go shopping.

I’m sure we’ll have some great pictures next week, so don’t forget to come back on Monday!

  1. Have fun! Birmingham was our “home” during our visit years ago. Beautiful cottages, rolling countryside and some fun pubs. Enjoy!
