Upstream on the Wandle

Taking an evening constitutional is a typically British activity, so on Saturday we decided to expore the River Wandle upsteam, a direction we haven’t yet explore. And the walk was lovely!

Despite the fact that Wandle wanders through some rather industrial areas, and there are lots of factories and warehouses along the route, the footpath itself is quite nice. There are flowers and trees surrounding, and if you squint a little bit you can ignore the encroaching sense of civilization. We even saw a few bluebells!

We came across several parks connected by the footpath. There was a great playground, as well as some sleeping ducks!  There was even a napping moggie asleep on the front stoop. The only drawback was that there were quite a few bugs at that time of the evening, a rarity in England.
